We work consciously against the short-lived pace of today’s fashion industry. Instead of large inventories and anonymous mass production, every piece at ATELIER 3K is created only once it is ordered, according to our Made-to-Order principle.

This slower process lets us think about production more consciously — with more time, more care, and a stronger connection to what we create. In this way we avoid overproduction and at the same time create space for a more mindful approach to clothing, materials, and craft.

Made to Order · Custom Length

On selected pieces you can also choose the length individually. Your knitpiece is then made specifically to that measurement for you.

For us, modern luxury does not mean constant availability, but appreciation for craft, time, and origin.

What is the difference between Made to Order and Made to Order · Custom Length?

Made to Order. Production after the order, using our defined sizes and lengths from the size chart.

Made to Order · Custom Length. On selected knitpieces the length can be chosen individually. Production then follows that measurement.

Note: Made-to-Order · Custom Length knitpieces are made specifically to your individual selection and are therefore excluded from withdrawal.

Crafted by hand

Every piece is made in our atelier in Freiburg by careful handwork — on hand-guided knitting machines or classically with knitting needles. Step by step, with particular attention to every detail.

The combination of traditional techniques and modern design shapes our entire development and production process. From the first sketch to the final piece, every step stays deliberately close to the product itself.

This slower way of working makes each knitpiece something of its own — shaped by precision, a feel for material, and craft experience.

Because our knitpieces are made by hand, their production takes time. For regular Made-to-Order pieces our production time is 2–3 weeks. Individually adapted Made-to-Order · Custom Length pieces take 3–4 weeks. This time is part of our claim to make every piece with the necessary care and calm.

Made to last

We design knitwear with the aim of accompanying people over a long time — independent of generation, gender, or short-lived trends.

Carefully selected materials, high-quality finishing, and a timeless design are at the centre of our design process. We believe in pieces that are not made for a moment, but can be worn and valued over many years.

Rather than thinking in fixed categories, we are interested in the idea of clothing that can adapt to different people and phases of life — physically as well as personally.

Longevity therefore means for us not only quality in material and finishing, but also knowledge of how clothing is properly cared for and preserved. Our Journal grew out of this claim — a steadily growing knowledge space around knit, materials, care, fit, and everything that helps your knitpiece last as long as possible.

In this way we want not only to create products that remain, but also to pass on the knowledge needed to preserve their value in the long term.
